Tsunami Special Loans
This loan scheme was started in the year 2005, with the found of Rs. 4,000,000/= for the provision of micro credit to individuals affected by the 2004 Tsunami. This loan scheme sponsored by National Development Trust Fund, Sri Lanka and introduced and implemented at tsunami-affected districts Ampara, Galle, Matara and Hambantota. Loans are provided only to individuals or families living in communities affected by the Tsunami and they should be members of Agromart Production Societies. The maximum loan amount granted for an individual is Rs. 100,000 for maximum period of 12 months with the annual interest rate of 28%.
This loan scheme was started with the sponsorship of UNDP Tsunami Transition Program. The recipients will be Tsunami affected people who have not received any financial assistant from any other institution. The either a person, loss a business or have been widow due to the tsunami. The maximum loan amount will be Rs.50, 000/=. The interest rate will be 6% per annum with grace period of 3-6 months depends on the particular need s of the beneficiaries. The special feature in this program is 40% of beneficiaries are women.
The RELIEF International loan scheme was started in the year 2005, for the provision of micro credit to individuals affected by the 2004 Tsunami. This loan scheme sponsored by Relief International (RI), and introduced and implemented at tsunami-affected districts Galle, Matara and Hambantota. Loans are provided only to individuals or families living in communities affected by the tsunami and they should be members of Agomart Production Societies. This loan scheme sponsored by REVIVE project of United States Agency for International Development (USAID), and introduced and implemented at tsunami affected districts Galle, Matara and Hambantota. Loans are provided only to individuals or families living in communities affected by the tsunami and they should be members of Agomart Production Societies. The maximum loan amount granted for an individual is Rs. 100,000 for maximum period of 12 months with the annual interest rate of 18% with a relate of 2% for on time payment. More info: www.revive.lk

This loan scheme introduced and implemented in tsunami-affected districts Galle, Matara and Hambantota with effect from November 2005. Loans are provided only to individuals or families living in communities affected by the tsunami and they should be members of Agomart Production Societies. The ETIMOS Credit Line Loan Scheme also started after the affect of Tsunami in 2004 December, with the fund of € 15,000* from ETIMOS. This loan scheme introduced and implemented in tsunami-affected districts Galle, Matara and Hambantota with effect from November 2005. Loans are provided to individuals or families living in communities affected by the Tsunami in the district of Galle, Matara and Hambantota. The clients shall use the loans to reconstitute assets damaged by Tsunami and to purchase equipments for income generating activities. The maximum loan amount grated for an individual in Rs. 100,000/= for a maximum period of 18 month with the annual interest rate of 18% with a relate of 2% per annum for on time payment.
